Department Information

Introduction of the Department of Applied Chemistry.

Applied Chemistry Today and Tomorrow

Department InformationThe Department of Applied Chemistry has 31 faculty members, all of whom participate in the undergraduate and graduate educational programs and are involved in research activities. There are currently about 130 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. The purpose of the undergraduate program is to teach students the chemical way of thinking and to foster their creative ability to find and solve problems.

Department InformationThe fields of teaching and research are based on fundamental chemistry, and are divided into four frames: Materials Design, Environmental Technologies, Organic Science, and Bioscience. As a student, you will have the possibility to study the basic aspects of Applied Chemistry through the teaching program, and to become involved in a current research project. Chemical experiments are an important part for students in the Department of Applied Chemistry. Through experimental work, you will become able to understand the nature of materials and to verify theories.

Department InformationGraduation research is the most important subject in the Department of Applied Chemistry. You will join one of the research groups, and start a research work aiming at the development of new materials and the creation of new ideas. Some of the results will be presented at scientific meetings and be published in research journals. Thus, the Department of Applied Chemistry provides its students with the fundamental needs for a professional career.
