HPLC Packing Materials
Liquid chromatography is an important separation and analysis tool used in various fields such as for the purification of pharmaceuticals as well as in clinical diagnosis and food safety management, among others. Separation is achieved based on varying the elution time depending on the interaction of each target compound with the surface of the packing material and the mobile phase.
In our laboratory, we have developed a packing material that overcomes the low alkaline resistance, which is a drawback of silica gel packing materials that are mainly used at present, by using mesoporous calcium carbonate particles as the carrier. We confirmed its applicability for clinical diagnosis of basic drugs.
In addition, we are working on the development of antibody purification chromatography columns by making use of various interactions through surface functionalization of the packing materials with polymers.
