1st grade (Freshman) students take the fundamental courses at Hiyoshi Campus.
They do not belong to a specific department, but study five broadly defined specialized disciplines.
2nd grade (Sophomore) students continue learning fundamental chemistry at Hiyoshi
Campus.
3rd grade (Junior) students enroll in fundamental chemistry and in advanced chemistry
courses at Yagami Campus: Materials Design, Environmental Technologies, Organic Science, and
Bioscience.
4th grade (Senior) students work on their graduation research, which is the most important
subject in the Department of Applied Chemistry. Approximately 80% of the students continue their education
with advanced research activities in the graduate school.
